Getting really confused, no longer sure what I want and where I'm headed. Getting caught up in the flow of events which swept away any semblance of control and sanity. Caught in the turmoil of waves and of uncertainty, tumbling and rolling head over heels not knowing when its going to be over.
Are things fine status quo? or should I try to change things? Being Indecisive is the worse kind of situation to be caught in, cause you know you will lose all options eventually. Achieving neither and end up feeling the regret and torment of not making the decision earlier.
Really wish for all these to be over. Regardless of the outcome, let it be over.

Was having a farewell lunch for one of my colleagues at Great World City where I chanced upon the Kuriya Resturant on the 3rd floor. Always thought that Kuriya was only the counter that sells the take-away sushi and was part of Ichiban resturant. Turns out they have a very classy resturant just 2 floors above.
Decided to give it a try today for lunch when no one could decide where we should go. Boy, was it a great decision. At the door of the resturant where they usually get the guest to "Wait to be seated", the short stretch of passage way to the inside was tastefully decorated with excellent gentle lighting and 3 elegant pots of orchid. Wish I took a picture of that but decided that I would look too much of a tourist and maybe a little too country bumpkin.
Took us a while to decide the menu. One reason was that we did not really know what to expect (since its the 1st time for all of us) but mainly I think the key reason has to be that the cheapest set meal I could see at a glance was $23. Guess was kinda out of our usual lunch budget, felt kind of embarressed that I made everyone spend so much for lunch. Well, eventually we all managed to decide on something that the price is something we can swallow. I chose the Teriyaki Cod Fish set which came with a Chawamushi, miso soup, rice, some preserved radish, some "sichuan" preserved vegetable, desserts and coffee. And on the spur of the moment, I added yakitori not knowing the portions which were to come.
I must say, it was one of the best lunch I had. The cod fish was tender and the teriyaki source blended perfectly with the light taste of the cod fish ... excellent! I would definitely recommend this set to anyone who visits. The appetitizers were delightfully complementary and made the rice definitely much easier to finish. I must say miso soup was average though.
Next was the interesting chawamushi ... well ... taste was ... different. Quite unlike most chawamushi I've had. However, the only ones I've ever tasted are from Ichiban, Sakae, Sushi Teh, etc... all local products so I can't tell which is really authentic. It not bad though, just different. Bruce, Wendy and Wanting (my colleagues) all order set meals hence we had the chawamushi. The funny thing was that Bruce ate first and was telling us his thoughts as well and some of the contents in the cup. Mushrooms, naruto, chicken ... Wendy was next (she did not quite like it so she did not really finish). I went on to the chawamushi after my main course and hey! There was this extra prawn. Wendy and Bruce both exclaimed that theirs was without any prawns. So we all waiting for Wanting to have hers and hey presto, hers had a prawn too! Wendy decided to dig deeper into whats remaining of hers. At 1st yielded no results, but finally lying a the very bottom of the cup .... was the prawn! Hmmm.... writting it here doesn't feel very funny, but it was quite hilarious during the time when Bruce ended up the only one who did not have a prawn in his chawamushi.
By this time, we have totally forgotten that we still have desserts and coffee to go and we were all stuffed to our neck in good food. But hey, there's always room for some desserts. It was a small scoop of ice-cream, some fruits and cheese pudding. Shan't go into details about the fruits and ice-cream, was rather normal. The cheese pudding is worth mentioning though. At first, all of us looked at each other and our faces were like ... yucks, cheese pudding? Must be super rich and sweet and super hard to finish. To my surprise, it turned out to be a very light dessert. The pudding was smooth and the cheese taste was mild. Just enough to let you know that its cheese pudding, yet not strong enough to overpower you. Wasn't that sweet as well. A very good ending to a definitely very enjoyable meal. I will give it 4 out of 5 stars!
A fruitful day today was, managed to resolve some critical issues which have been plaguing us for the past weeks. Things finally seems to be stablising and you can almost smell the air on the other side of the finishing line. Lets hope that things keep headed in this direction and we can finally close this chapter of our lives. Honestly, I do not think I will even want to remember much about this project.
Think the stress of this project cutover is really getting to all of us, cannot imagine the amount of trash talk there is over lunch. Even the most innocent of statements can be twisted in the most imaginative manner and all I can tell you that those jokes definitely will require censorship if I want to post them here. Well, at least it keeps working life interesting.
Decided to create another set of pages where I can keep information on the Europe trip we are planning. Will be using that space to plan for some possible places of interest. For those who are interested, you can keep yourself updated on the latest news regarding the trip at the following location: Europe Planner
Please feel free to offer any suggestions or if you know of any places which you think we should take note of :D
p/s: Think I will buy myself a bar of dark chocolate to bring to work tomorrow. Then I can munch on the chocolate to keep myself feeling happy :D

Was feeling quite happy today. Managed to resolve some issues at work
which has been bugging me for weeks already. Feels good to clear a
difficult problem. Its going to be a difficult week ahead preparing for
the project cutover with everyone's patience stretched to their limits.
Everyone is tired both physically and mentally and the only thing
keeping us going seems to be coffee and consolation that its going to
be over in another 2-3 weeks regardless of the outcome. Think many of
us will not be able to keep this kind of pace up much longer. Can't
really remember when was the last REAL weekend any of us had.
Was at customer site today to perform some load testing on the programs which was fixed. Some hitches here and there but nothing that couldn't be overcomed. Finally got the results that we wanted. ONLY took us from 9am in the morning till 3pm *roll eyes*. Finally was able to go have our lunch or what ever you call a meal at 4pm in the afternoon. Someone suggested having Xiao Long Bao at Crystal Jade so off we went the bunch of us to Suntec City and had our lunch there. Lots of weird jokes went round the table (you know, those suggestive type) and I must admit, it was quite hilarious. However the joke was really on me when I went home to have dinner with my parents. Guess what, they had to suggest going to Crystal Jade for dinner! Oh well, guess I have to abstain from rich food for a few days.
Yeah, found another 2 ladies to go on the Europe trip. However, that also raise some concerns that we really need to get another guy to come along. Else its going to be me against the bunch of them, sure get bullied. Need to start reading up and plan the places that we can visit so that we can maximise our time there and minimise our cost!

Been feeling increasingly frustrated at the amount of things that I do not know. There's so much knowledge I lack which is seriously crippling my ability to resolve issues at work. Sometimes I wonder if I might have bitten off more then I can chew. Sometimes, its not just how much you know, experience really plays a major role and the amount of exposure you get makes a very big difference to how quickly you can resolve issues.
Just got home from a whole day of testing and trying to pinpoint issues and possible areas where faults might have taken place. So many scenarios are running through my head however I'm unable to fit any of the scenarios to the issue at hand. Hence so many hours were spent without being able to pinpoint the key to the problem. So frustrating ... argh ...
However, I'm glad that I have many supportive colleagues and bosses who are constantly reminding me to go take breaks and rest. Many of them complaining how terrible I look due to insufficient rest. It feels good to have colleagues who are there to help you out during periods of tough times like these.
I think I need to start planning for some recreational activities so that I can have some form of encouragement to look forward to after finishing the project. Let's see:
a) Catch a movie (Maybe Transformers? assuming its still showing when my project is done)
b) Go for a short trip to Genting Highlights
c) Golf Sessions!!
d) Mahjung!! (Where the all the people?!)
Hmmm, think better not to have too long a list. May not have the $$ to lose in mahjung!

Okie, think its because its a brand new blog so I can't help but want
to write more posts. I hope I can keep up with this rate of postings!
Not too sure what kind of theme or mood I want to set for this blog
yet, so for the time being, you all will just have to put up with all
my random ramblings and complaints and what nots.
Just got home from work. Ya I know, its 2am in the morning. However, as I've mentioned in my earlier posts, we are trying our best to do what we can to push the project through commissioning. Hence the obsence hours of working and the ridiculous number of skipped meals. I guess thats the norm in the line which I'm in. (psst... as you may have guessed by now, I'm an IT nerd working in the System Integration industry. Who else would be posting on his blog so early in the morning after getting back from work?)
Now, the odd part is this. Aren't bosses supposed to be happy when his/her staff are putting in more hours trying to get work done? I was literally chased off the working premises just now and I even had one of my bosses drive me home in my car. I'm also not supposed to show my face at work tomorrow as well. Now tell me is that odd or what?

Being a while, this is my third attempt to maintain an online presence. Finally decided to register a new domain and subscribed to a new hosting provider after my last one expired. Not that the previous attempts were terrible, but somehow wasn't really what I wanted. (P.S Actually, I was also financially strapped to pay the subscription for the hosting and domain :P anyway) Therefore I'm going to take my time with this one and slowly bring it up. That is why I'm going with the most simple theme I can find that comes with this engine. Will begin the skinning process bit by bit.
Life has been rather busy with the project that I'm working on finally going into the last phase. Working round the clock tying up loose ends and catching up on backlogs. Foresee the next few weeks to be terrible but I really look forward to the end of this project. Has been a very very long journey.
Well, only thing in the short term that I can look forward to is my golf session tomorrow! Took half day leave tomorrow to play a round of 9-hole.
Looking forward to going on a holiday to Europe (maybe New Zealand depending on the wants of the majority, but I would really prefer Europe) and currently trying to get people to go on the trip together. Will be posting more information on that later when I can find some time to gather the details.
I guess this will be all for now, I'm not really known for long posts :P
